We got to perform a burial at sea
for 28 service members and 2 spouses. One of the members was a Chief Warrant
Officer who had served on the Lake Erie. It was an honor to fulfill their final wishes and commit them to the
deep.
The best part, was that I paired
up each cremains with a sailor of either the same rate or rank. It meant more
to the sailors, once they knew the backstories of the cremains they were carrying.
